Please consider making a unique and meaningful gift to a worthy cause in the name of someone special. By donating a bookshelf of New Press books to a deserving organization or individual in need, you are expanding access to reading materials and making a lasting, intellectual difference in someone's life.
Through the Give A Bookshelf Initiative you may donate a bookshelf of socially conscious, nonfiction titles to a worthy organization of your choosing (for example, your local school or community center) or you may allow The New Press to select the recipient organization from among our many collaborators in the fields of criminal justice, education, labor studies, and more.
When you donate a bookshelf, The New Press will coordinate with the beneficiary organization to match interests and donate books in issue areas most frequently requested. In the case of incarcerated individuals, we partner with Books Through Bars, the leading books-to-prison program in New York City, to send subject-specific books to individuals who have requested them.
As you think about the many organizations and individuals in need of better-stocked libraries, please consider donating to our Give A Bookshelf Initiative. With your support, the voices lifted up in countless New Press books will be heard by other underrepresented voices in our communities.
Together, we can change the world, one book at a time.
