  Students gaining an instructor signature to add a course after drop/add is over should email bpugh1@rcsj.edu or jcirucci@rcsj.edu to be enrolled in that course in Blackboard.

  Blackboard only uses College-issued email accounts for communication. Additionally, students will receive messages from instructors and/or Blackboard announcements only in their Cumberland email inboxes. The same is true for the instructors. When students send messages through Blackboard, they will only be sent to the instructor's CCC email account. Students and Instructors are expected to check their CCC email accounts regularly.   Blackboard works well with specific browsers, for example, Google Chrome and Mozilla.org's FireFox. Using Safari, Internet Explorer, or other browsers may cause incompatibility when using Blackboard, especially when taking a test.

  Mobile Devices and Blackboard's Mobile Learn App:
  
  Mobile Devices (smartphones and tablets) have some limitations while navigating Blackboard 9.1. Mobile devices are not recommended for submitting assignments or taking tests. While Blackboard's Mobile App does have some advantages, the support for it from the College is limited. Students should contact Blackboard directly for help with the Bb Learn App.

  How do I request Blackboard shells for my courses?

  Certified/Trained Instructors wishing to use Blackboard for their courses must complete the Blackboard Course Copy form located inside Work Requests on the portal's home page. If the course is brand new, request a weekly or unit template, whichever better suits your needs. Instructors who have not been certified at Cumberland or have not participated in Cumberland training, need to contact Judy (jcirucci@cc.rcsj.edu) to make the proper arrangements for training before course shells are delivered.
  
  

  How can I get Technical Support by phone?

  Microsoft's Internet Explorer Web browser is no longer supported by Blackboard. 

  Blackboard's development team made the decision to drop IE support based on a variety of factors, including Microsoft ceasing active development for the browser in 2016, overall browser usage across Blackboard clients, and security and accessibility considerations.

  Microsoft Edge (Windows 10), Google Chrome, and Firefox are good alternatives.
